Getting Started
Subrosa is a private, secure mobile app designed specifically for BDSM and power exchange relationships. It provides tools for managing Dom/sub dynamics, including task assignments, habit tracking, punishments, rewards, communication features, and more. Whether you are in a long-distance relationship or live together, Subrosa helps you maintain and deepen your dynamic.
Getting started is easy! Simply create a free account with your email or sign up with Apple/Google. During onboarding, you will choose your role (Dominant, Submissive, or Switch) and set up your profile. You can then create a relationship or accept an invite from your partner to connect your accounts.
Almost never. Every feature and every specialty page is free for everyone, forever β training, tasks, punishments, chat, the Bell, contracts, and all the specialty modules. A Premium subscription only adds more media storage and unlimited live translation on a relationship. New users also get a 7-day Premium trial (no credit card required) to feel out that extra headroom.
Once you have created a relationship, go to Settings and tap "Invite Partner." You can share the invite link via text, email, or any messaging app. When your partner clicks the link and creates their account, they will automatically be connected to your relationship with the complementary role.
Absolutely! Subrosa supports multiple relationships for polyamorous dynamics or professional Dominants/Dominatrixes with multiple submissives. Each relationship is completely separate with its own tasks, habits, chat history, and settings. You can easily switch between relationships from the sidebar.
Subrosa is available as a native iOS app on the App Store and a web app accessible from any modern browser. An Android app is coming soon. The web app works great on desktop computers and tablets, making it easy to manage your dynamic from any device.
Account & Security
We take security extremely seriously. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption. We use Vercel and Prisma for our infrastructure, which is SOC 2 Type II certified. Your content is private to you and your connected partner(s), and we never sell your data to third parties.
Yes! You do not need to use your real name anywhere in the app. You can choose any display name and avatar you like. We only require an email address for account recovery purposes, and you can use a private email service if desired. Your email is never shared with your partner or anyone else.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Account Actions > Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data, including messages, tasks, and media. This action cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription, it will be canceled automatically.
Your data stays put. At the end of your billing period the relationship simply returns to the free tier β you keep every feature, since features are never gated. You only give back the extra headroom: storage returns to the free quota and live translation returns to its monthly limit. If you were over the free storage quota, we keep the excess media for 90 days, so resubscribing within that window restores everything.
Yes. We designed Subrosa specifically for sensitive content. All media is stored in encrypted private buckets. The app does not appear in your browser history by default, and you can enable additional privacy features like app lock with biometrics, hidden mode for notifications, and discrete app icon.
Hidden mode disguises Subrosa notifications and the app itself. When enabled, notifications show generic text instead of message previews. You can also enable a discrete app icon that makes Subrosa look like a calculator or other innocuous app. Access requires your passcode or biometrics.
Features & Usage
The Bell is an instant attention feature for Dominants. When a Dom rings the Bell, their submissive receives an unmissable alert with optional custom instructions. The sub must acknowledge the ring, and the Dom can see when this happens. It is perfect for getting immediate attention or calling your sub to action.
Tasks are one-time assignments with due dates, priorities, and optional photo proof requirements. Habits are recurring tasks that build routines - daily, weekly, or monthly. Both support points for completion, which accumulate toward rewards. Doms can see completion rates and task history at a glance.
Subrosa supports three punishment types: Counter-based (like spankings, where you track count), Timed (like corner time, with a built-in timer), and Write Lines (where the sub must type a phrase repeatedly). Each punishment can have notes, severity levels, and completion requirements.
Yes! Every relationship is different, so you can customize which features are visible in your sidebar. If you do not use certain features like Financial Domination or Age Play, simply hide them from Settings. You can always re-enable them later.
Spin wheels add randomized decision-making to your dynamic. Doms can create custom wheels with any options - punishments, rewards, activities, or anything else. When a sub spins, the wheel randomly selects an outcome. You can grant spins as rewards or use them for spontaneous play.
Dom vs Sub Differences
Subrosa is designed around power exchange dynamics. Dominants have control-focused capabilities: creating tasks, assigning punishments, setting rules, and verifying completions. Submissives have completion-focused capabilities: receiving assignments, marking tasks done, submitting proof, and tracking their own progress. The general pattern is that Doms create, assign, control, monitor, verify, and approve - while Subs complete, submit, request, and track progress.
Doms have exclusive control over: creating and assigning Tasks, Habits, Punishments, and Rewards; ringing the Bell and setting instructions; creating Blackmail items; setting spending limits and verifying Tributes; issuing Report Cards and awarding Stickers; creating Inspection Checklists and marking pass/fail; setting Daycare Schedules; approving or rejecting Uniform submissions; fixing Spin Wheel outcomes; and full control over relationship Settings.
Subs focus on completion and submission: completing Tasks and Habits with optional photo proof; receiving and completing Punishments; claiming available Rewards; responding to Bell rings; submitting Tributes with optional proof of payment; submitting outfits for Uniform Approval; writing assigned Lines; following Inspection Checklists; tracking Potty Training progress; completing Domestic Skills Academy lessons; following Service Protocols; and spinning the Wheel (if enabled by Dom).
Several features are bidirectional and work identically for both roles: Chat messaging, Feedback, private Notes, Timers, Media Library sharing, viewing the Contract, and managing multiple Relationships. Both partners can also invite new partners and request permissions from each other.
In Financial Domination features, Subs submit Tributes with optional proof-of-payment images. Doms review and verify or reject tribute submissions and can set spending limits and goals. The ledger is fully transparent, but no money moves through or is monitored by the app β any payment happens directly between partners.
Privacy & Safety
Consent is fundamental to everything we do. Both partners must explicitly accept relationship connections. Sensitive features require explicit opt-in from the submissive. We provide tools for setting limits and boundaries in contracts. Either partner can pause or leave the relationship at any time.
Only you and your connected partner(s) can see your content within a relationship. We do not have any social features, discovery, or public profiles. Your activity is completely private between you and your partner β your data is yours.
If you experience abuse or feel unsafe, you can report it through Settings > Support > Report Abuse. You can also email us directly at safety@subrosaapp.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly. You can also immediately block and leave any relationship if needed.
Yes. You can block any user from your relationship settings. Once blocked, they cannot contact you, see your profile, or send you invites. You can unblock users later if you choose. Blocking someone also removes them from any shared relationships.
We do not actively monitor private content between consenting adults. However, we have zero tolerance for illegal content and will cooperate with law enforcement when required. All users must be 18+ and agree to our terms of service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our policies.
Billing & Subscriptions
Almost nothing. Every feature and every specialty page is free for everyone, forever. A Premium subscription only adds two things that genuinely cost us to run: more media storage and unlimited live message translation. See our pricing page for the current price.
Premium applies to one relationship at a time. If you have more than one dynamic, you choose which ones to upgrade and each is billed separately β and every feature stays free on all of them regardless. Either partner can be the one who pays for a relationship.
Absolutely β no contracts or commitments. Cancel from Settings whenever you like; Premium stays active until the end of the current billing period, then the relationship returns to the free tier. You keep every feature and only give back the extra storage and unlimited translation. No cancellation fees, ever.
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on Premium. If you are not satisfied for any reason within 30 days of your purchase, contact us for a full refund. After 30 days, we consider prorated refunds for annual plans on a case-by-case basis.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), PayPal, and Apple Pay. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, which is PCI Level 1 certified. We never store your payment information on our servers.
Technical Support
You can reach our support team through multiple channels: In-app via Settings > Support, or by email at contact@subrosaapp.com. We typically respond within 24 hours, and Premium subscribers get priority support with faster response times.
Subrosa is available in over 40 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, and many more. You can change your language anytime from Settings. We are constantly adding new languages based on user requests.
If the app is not loading, try these steps: 1) Check your internet connection, 2) Force close and reopen the app, 3) Clear the app cache from Settings, 4) Check if there is a new version available, 5) Restart your device. If problems persist, contact support with details about your device and the issue.
We appreciate bug reports! Go to Settings > Support > Report Bug, or shake your device to trigger the bug reporter. Include as much detail as possible: what you were doing, what happened, and any error messages. Screenshots or screen recordings are very helpful. We review all bug reports and prioritize fixes.
